Kellye's Sacrifice: Help Her in Caring for Her Mom, Linda

Donation protected
My name is Kellye, and my mother, Linda Bozarth, was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer (which means when they found it, it had already spread to her liver, lymph nodes, bile duct, and colon) in April 2020. She was told the only way she could live would be with treatment and that she would never get to ring the bell, which is something cancer patients get to do when they've beat the cancer. She then began treatment in May of 2020 and continued with it until about four months ago. The chemo wasn't working anymore, and she just got tired of being sick and having to go to doctors all the time and be pumped full of what she called poison (chemo), and I can't say that I blame her. Actually we're very fortunate to still have her with us because the 5 year survival rate with her type of cancer is only about 14%. Most people only survive around 14 to 19 months and this coming April will be her 5 year mark.

For the past two months, she has been completely bedridden and slowly declining. It's been the absolute toughest thing I've ever had to go through in my life, and I know it's only going to get tougher. She has fought hard and still continues to fight. Seeing her so sick all the time and not able to get up is very heartbreaking because if you know my mom, she has always been a go-getter, never one to lay around. She is the most kind-hearted, strong willed person I have ever met and helping others is another thing she is well known for, which makes this even more difficult to have to do. We've been debating for several weeks on whether to do this or not and finally decided that right now the most important thing is making sure we have everything we need for her and that we can keep the bills paid because without lights and water she would be taken from my care and that would hurt me so bad, but more importantly it would devastate her.

Unfortunately, being her primary caregiver means that I cannot work because she has to have 24-hour care. We have managed to get by these last few months, but it is starting to become way more difficult and putting even more stress and worry on us then we need. So if there's any way that you all wouldn't mind helping us out through this extremely difficult and emotional time, it would be more than greatly appreciated and thanks in advance for helping out. God Bless.
