UPDATE: 1st off thank you everyone for your generosity from donations, shares and just kind words. Junior saw his doctor at the end of last week. Stitches were removed from the incision area. They then went over results. The cancer has spread. The doctor has a plan and feels very good about it. Over the next couple weeks Junior will have appointments to get him prepared for chemo/radiation. Approximately 39 treatments. With this he will be out of work for extended period and will also have a feeding tube installed. With this we ask for continued prayers/donations to help them and shares to spread the word.
Some may know him as Gary, Gary Jr, Gary Folk Jr, or Folky, but the majority know him as Junior. A dad, husband, brother, co-worker, a coach for 25 plus years to both little league and softball for Blue Ridge School, a very familiar name and face in the racing community from watching as a kid to head flagger at many tracks and now race director for his favorite place, Penn Can Speedway. People have known of Junior's amazing weight loss journey over the last almost 2 years. Recently, he lost a fun bet against the Blue Ridge Girls Cheer squad, which involved him shaving his extremely long beard he was proud of growing. After shaving, he noticed a lump in his throat area. Being cautious, he had it checked out. After a few doctor visits, it was found that he has Lymphoma Cancer. With many special doctor visits already and surgery set on April 7th, the long journey will continue, which has put stress on him and his family with co-pay after co-pay piling up. With appointments comes leaving work early or not being able to go, taking away from his weekly income. With this GoFundMe, all funds will go towards medical bills that come from this to help take some stress away during his treatments.
