Donate to ease the stress of Jay’s Jay’s ALS

As many of you know and have seen, I have posted a “GoFundMe” in the previous years for my uncle Jay Jay Bullington to support his family throughout his tough & unforgiving battle with ALS.

Jay Jay’s battle with ALS is not only his own. It affects everyone—his wife Cherie and two children Madison (16) & Jamison (12). To say they have a “normal” life is far-fetched. Being the amazing mother she is to her kids, she is stretched so thin. Cherie is ultimately his full-time caregiver.

Their bills are piling up so high it truly feels like they are drowning and aren’t anywhere near the surface. They heat and cook with propane—we ALL know how expensive that is. Cherie has exhausted all of their assets to try to get by and maintain their current household expenses.

Their daughter Madison is 16 and just got her learner's permit—she will be able to drive in the coming months! Cherie has their Tahoe set aside for Madison! Unfortunately, the transmission is in need of repair. If anyone could offer assistance with that or point us in the direction of a great reliable mechanic with low payment plans, we would appreciate that as well!

A week ago, Cherie was on the way to take Jay Jay to a doctor's appointment downtown at MCV in their van that’s equipped to haul Jay Jay to all of his doctor's appointments. It was unfortunately hit while they were in the line for valet parking. The police had to deem the accident as a hit and run, as the driver drove off and no one was able to get a license plate. Cherie was left in tears knowing she had no clue where she would get the money to fix it.

Needless to say, Cherie is mentally and physically drained. She always says she hates to say, “what’s next?” but that’s how it’s been for 3 or more years for her. She keeps pushing through because her children and her husband need her, but there is only so much one can take.

Cherie’s “ what’s next “ was a 911 call today for Jay Jay. They are currently admitted right now ( 01/20/2025 ) . Jay Jay is having issues with his trach, as we know this is what is keeping Jay Jay here with us. Please keep him in your prayers.

If you are able to donate, whether it’s a few dollars or one hundred, we are forever grateful for the support from our community we receive.

Living with a terminal illness as the days pass by, watching your family all around you trying to stay strong for you and not lose everything, is a lot tougher than one thinks. Jay Jay is still the best support system Cherie and the kids could have. Even with this horrible, unforgiving disease that has robbed us of him, he will always be the hero in our story.
