Support to Ease Janel's Chronic Pain Journey

TLDR

Janel has suffered from CRPS for over 12 years. Almost two dozen different medications have been attempted to help alleviate the pain. Half a dozen different treatments have been attempted as well. The few that did help only worked for a short duration with decreasing effect after every treatment.

Now her doctors have given her the chance to try a new treatment that has been done for over 50 years to help with chronic pain, but her insurance will not cover it, leaving her and I to foot the bill.

What is CRPS?

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, or CRPS, was formerly known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, or RSD. It is considered to be a multi-system syndrome or condition that is mainly characterized by pain that lasts beyond the normal length of time for healing.

Janel fell and broke her elbow over 12 years ago. The pain from that break has never gone away. The CRPS has now spread to both of her feet, up her legs, and into her lower stomach as well.

Pain? How much?

CRPS is classed as the most painful chronic pain condition that is known. It reaches approximately 42 out of 50 on the McGill Pain Scale, higher than non-terminal cancer, higher than amputation of a finger without anesthesia…

The Treatment?

Low-dose ketamine infusions have been known to help chronic pain for over 50 years. For CRPS specifically, this treatment has been known to have some great results for the reduction of pain.

Janel, at the time this went live, just finished her infusions. This GoFundMe is not so she can get the treatment. It was too valuable of an opportunity to pass up, no matter what insurance would allow.

That does not mean that it isn't a major financial commitment, and that any help would be greatly appreciated.
