Donate to Ease James and Ed's Financial Burden

Hello All, I'm Eric, aka ZONK, and I'm organizing this GoFundMe for my dear friend James Cooper and his partner Ed, who is currently in the hospital battling pneumonia, and who suffered a stroke from complication of pneumonia at the beginning of August. Suffice it to say, Ed is not doing well and while he is the "provider" in their relationship, especially in regards to the rental agreement and utilities, James contributes to the household but, as a musician hasn't been gigging much lately, and has found himself in a tough situation.

Just in case you don't know James, he's an absolute sweetheart and amazingly talented bass guitarist who has worked with some pretty amazing musicians over the years and played in a variety of bands, and dedicated his life to his passion of music.

As a friend of 25+ years I love James to pieces, and always try to find the time to get together and catch up, between my travels to and from Mexico or upstate New York for the summers. So when I saw how hard of a time he was having, emotionally and financially, I wanted to see him as soon as I came home from Opera camp this year. So we got together for lunch today so I could get caught up on how he is doing and how Ed is doing.

While Ed is improving, which is great news, we are approaching the end of the month and bills are due, utilities will be due and James needs to eat and be prepared for, what we pray will be soon, the time when Ed will be released from the hospital and return home.

When James mentioned how embarrassed or awful he would feel asking Ed to sign a check for September's rent, I understood... I understood clearly how hard it can be to face that shame, in hard times, and knew I had to do something. Ed has just barely "regained consciousness" after being in ICU for the past couple of weeks and finally verbalizing and knows where he is... So we are hoping their landlord will be understanding of the situation, so rent is one thing, but I just want to make sure my friend doesn't have to worry, presently, about food, and utilities possibly getting cut off.
