Hello
My name is Cesar, I'm 24 years old, and I live in a family of three including myself, my grandpa, and my mother. Both my mom and I have been struggling financially for some time and have barely been able to support ourselves as we split the rent between the both of us, paying over $1k each, all while she struggles to get consistent hours and income. I've essentially taken the role of being the breadwinner of the family, and both of us act as caretakers for my grandpa, who is no longer able to work due to his age, health, and overall condition, resulting in him needing extensive care and attention at home. We do our very best to make sure he always attends his appointments and procedures that are ordered by his doctors, which I have been mostly responsible for in making sure he attends them.
I'm currently struggling with being able to manage my own financial debt and monthly expenses, especially to help cover rent, as it is responsible for more than half the income I earn monthly, seeing as I only work a 30-hour/week schedule at the moment with varying opportunities to obtain more hours as well. Finding a part-time job has also been proving to be difficult as I've been consistently getting rejected or outright ignored when applying.
On August 7th, however, when I was on my way to visit a long-distance partner, my car managed to break down for a second time at that point, and it resulted in me being stuck on the highway for the second time. Once I managed to get my car back home, my family had a mechanic take a look at my car and noticed that it had been a broken radiator and faulty sensors that caused the engine to overheat and shut itself off. However, upon replacing the affected parts, he noticed that fluid was getting into the engine itself, meaning if we wanted to be able to repair the engine for the car, it'd cost us exactly $1k, which is more money than we could afford at that moment and still can't. This past month has been extensively costly also as we just recently had to pay off bills that we were either late on or were going to be due very soon, including the maintenance we had to do for my mom's car just recently as well, only through the help of a friend that was able to help cover those expenses for now.
To make matters worse, we recently received a notice from our landlord that starting in November, they'll raise the rent price totaling it to over $2100, making it more difficult for both me and my mom to be able to afford our monthly expenses comfortably.
I'm humbly asking for financial support and help with covering the housing expenses for this month so that it'll give me an opportunity to be able to save up enough of my own money to be able to repair my car as I heavily depend on it for ease of transportation for various occasions like visiting friends/loved ones, going to work, and taking my grandpa to his appointments which are sometimes long distance. It'd make our lives much easier with one less burden hanging over our heads. Please only donate if you CAN and ANY amount of support is greatly appreciated.
