Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out to ask for support for my amazing mom, who has been by my sister's side nonstop through a very difficult medical journey.

As many of you know, my sister Gaby is disabled, but not many know exactly what it is she has.

My sister was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of 2. Cerebral palsy is a neurological disorder that affects movement, muscle tone, and posture. It's caused by brain damage that usually happens before or during birth. For my sister, it's meant a lifetime of challenges—from not having the ability to walk to needing daily care and therapy.

Just a few months ago, she was also diagnosed with dystonia, a painful movement disorder that causes involuntary muscle contractions and twisting movements. Dystonia makes even simple tasks incredibly difficult and uncomfortable—and in combination with her cerebral palsy, it's made her condition even more complex and painful.

A couple of months ago, my sister's health took a turn for the worse, and she was admitted to the children's hospital in Edinburg, TX. The doctors there did everything they could, but eventually, they determined she needed more advanced care. After a month and a half at the hospital in Edinburg, she was airlifted by medical plane to the children's hospital in Houston, TX, where she is now being treated.

My mom has been with her every step of the way. She left behind her job and all of her responsibilities to focus on caring for my sister—and that has brought a major financial strain. Between lost income, travel expenses, and the cost of simply living away from home, things have gotten very difficult.

We're asking for your help to support my mom during this time. Every donation will go toward her basic needs while she's in Houston—food, gas, lodging, and essential bills. Your support would allow her to stay close to my sister without the added stress of how she'll manage financially.
