My father was recently diagnosed with Stage 1 Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Thankfully, his recent scan showed that the cancer has not spread to any other parts of his body. Thank God! The doctors are recommending radiation and possibly chemotherapy so the cancer does not grow or spread.

Before he starts his treatment, he had to have surgery on his jaw to remove a cyst in the bone. He also had to have 6 teeth removed! On this coming Friday he has to have another removed . His mouth is on the mend, and is just about able to eat solid food. 

He is scheduled to have radiation soon. He will have to travel to his appointment daily, and unfortunately, this will put him out of work for at least 8 weeks. In addition to not being able to work, he will lose his current job because he won’t be able to fulfill his contract. He and my stepmother have had a very hard time financially for the past two years. This situation has made it worse. Not only will he not be able to work, but my stepmother is disabled and is unable to work. They are a one-income household. As you know, one income in this economy is very difficult. He has asked me to set this GoFundMe up for him in hopes that we can raise some funds to help get them through this tough time. Donations will go towards rent, utilities, food, and some medical bills.
