In January 2025, Doris went in for her very first mammogram — without any symptoms or reason to suspect something might be wrong. After further testing and many doctor visits, she received the life-changing news in February 2025: she had Breast Cancer (Ductal Carcinoma) in her left breast.

Because of her family history of cancer and a BRCA2 gene mutation, which increases the risk of the cancer spreading, Doris made the brave decision to undergo a double mastectomy in June 2025. Praise the Lord, her recovery went smoothly, and she experienced very little pain during the healing process.

Unfortunately, the journey didn’t end there. Doris felt she needed to advocate for herself and find a doctor who truly listened and cared for her needs. After much prayer and searching, she found a new doctor in September, who ordered additional scans due to her ongoing back pain and discomfort. The results revealed devastating news — the cancer had spread to her bones, with metastases in her rib and two spots in her spine.

Soon after, Doris also faced complications with her expanders, requiring emergency surgery and delaying her chemotherapy treatments. The medications and treatment plans ahead are difficult to process, and she continues to pray for strength, peace, and guidance from the Lord.

Through research and recommendations, Doris has also sought the help of holistic doctors in hopes of improving her quality of life and reducing the long-term effects of chemotherapy. However, these treatments, along with ongoing medical bills, have placed a heavy financial burden on her family. Doris is currently unable to work, and with her husband as the main provider, the mounting costs have been overwhelming.

We are creating this fundraiser to help ease the financial stress of medical treatments, holistic care, and everyday living expenses, so Doris can focus on what truly matters — her healing and faith.

Doris holds tightly to her faith, knowing that Jesus’s sacrifice is the reason for our lives, and she is deeply grateful to be a part of His works and an heir of His family. She continues to trust in God’s plan and believes that every moment of this journey is guided by His love and purpose.

As we look ahead, we’re also planning a fundraiser auction in June 2026, with all proceeds going directly to support Doris’s ongoing treatment and care.
