Hello, my name is Christopher Maggard, good friend of David Wohler. I have known Dave since the '90s. I moved to Bloomington, California with my parents, across the street from Dave. We became friends after I introduced myself and explained that I was part of a mini truck club and wanted to see if he wanted to join because he had this lowered Nissan Hardbody truck, blue with ten-inch offset Dayton rims (I may be wrong on that). It was a good-looking truck. Over the years, we had our share of good times and outrageous times. Many BBQs at the Wohler Casa. Many card games, KINGS!!!! Man, that was a rough game. No matter what happened in our lives, or where we lived, we always stayed in touch and always had each other's back and respect. No matter what the situation was, Dave was always there to jump in and help out, He even went to school at the Culinary Arts at the art Institute. Let me tell you this, his cooking has been and always will be top notch. From a chef to a bouncer, to owning his own tile business, Dave has always been a go getter and a man of his word.
I am reaching out to you to help me raise money for Dave and his family. Dave is battling cancer for the 4th time now. Dave was self-employed and is unable to work now, making it hard to support his family. He shut down his tile business after 20 some years. Dave is one of the strongest people I have ever known. He has never asked for anything; if he wanted it, he would work hard to get it. He always has treated people with respect and never met a stranger. It breaks my heart to see such a good friend, a brother, struggle when he never struggled before. To hear him talk about how he does not want to be a burden to anyone, and he will figure it out on his own. Still being that strong person that he has always been. But it is our turn to help him and his family. Dave has two wonderful kids, a daughter (Madelyn) and his son (Waylon), with his wonderful fiancé, Paige.
Dave has gone through several battles with cancer now. The first battle was on September 28th, 2023, when he found out he had Stage 3 Colon Cancer. They removed 20 inches of his intestines, went through chemo, and won that battle. On November 26th, 2024, the same cancer came back as Stage 4 and was attacking his liver. He fought that battle and won. In June 2025, the same cancer came back again as Stage 4 but now in both of his lungs. Three cancerous tumors in his right lung and four in his left lung. This year, October 27th, the cancer has moved up to his brain, which now Dave cannot walk for very long without some kind of assistance. I am asking please, help take some pressure off his family with the worries of covering bills, putting food in the house, everyday expenses, because those medical bills are building up quickly.
