My name is Amber. I am trying to get funds together to help my parents. My dad, Dale, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Cancer (rare and aggressive) in December 2023. It has been a rough year, but he was recently put on hospice.

He spent a few years in the Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, and new studies show the water was contaminated and is causing cancers. Doctors are positive this is the leading cause of his cancer. He had his right kidney removed, but insurance had him wait a long time before starting treatment and it has metastasized into the liver, lungs, adrenal gland, and the other kidney is not doing well.

He unfortunately did not have life insurance, and any savings my parents may have had is gone. He was an over-the-road trucker for 30+ years, and the last few as an owner-operator. In 2023, his semi broke down, and he used credit cards to fix it, and then was forced into early retirement less than a year later.

Between medical debt, financial debt, and trying to plan for funeral costs, they are drowning.

$5,300 is the main priority to get him started on hospice. After that, it will be 80/20 on what insurance will pay.
