Ease the Chavez Family's Cancer Battle Expenses

Dear friends, family, and all else,

With a devastated heart, I have created this gofundme campaign for my loving, larger than life dad Ron. I am asking for your support in any way to help our family overcome the difficult fight ahead of us.

In late 2019, a sudden hospitalization had shaken our world. What my dad thought was food poisoning from a bad bean burrito the night before, ended up being stage 4 Colon Cancer. This marked the beginning of a long brutal fight over the next five years that has both physically and mentally depleted him and his family. Despite the ongoing medical treatments with various forms of chemotherapy and radiation, the cancer has spread into his lymphatic system, liver, and his bones. For almost 2 years now Ron has been unable to work due to the excruciating pain and debilitating damage cancer and chemotherapy has wrecked upon his body. Even within the last few weeks Ron has had multiple strokes, disabling him and causing him to be incapable to walk or be able to use the entire left side of his body. This has been devastating to him.

Ron and Patti (his wife), own a small business that they have run locally for the last 7 years. They both heavily depended on each other, and now since Ron’s absence my mom is left to run the business and carry all of its burdens alone as well as be a full time caregiver to my dad, which has become beyond difficult and traumatic. Between mounting medical bills and living expenses, we are drowning.

If you know Ron, you would know him as the caring father who is a proud veteran that carries a huge heart. Nothing is more important to him than taking care of his family, and he is a natural problem solver. My dad is determined to tackle this uphill battle and I want nothing more than for him to do so without all of the overwhelming stress about the suffocating medical expenses and loss of income.

Medical Bills: The constant chemotherapy and radiation costs over time has been so financially suffocating, any support is appreciated. On top of that Ron has been hospitalized for several strokes.

Palliative Care / Rehabilitation: Our insurance only covers a fraction of what Ron will need for rehabilitation and pain management care.

Loss of Income: Since Ron has not been able to work, Patti has the burden of keeping the business afloat alone. This has been overwhelming, and losing Ron has caused their main income to drastically diminish.

Living Expenses: Between the medical costs and loss of income, even our day to day bills have been difficult to pay. This will go towards food, utilities and housing costs.
