This fundraiser is on behalf of a beloved co-worker, Lisa Nabors and her family.

After several attempts to diagnose severe headaches, Lisa's family was confronted with the devastating diagnosis of Adenocarcinoma; her father has Stage 4 lung Cancer. Life expectancy by the doctors was said to be about 6-12 months. The cancer has spread through his entire body with tumors everywhere. With such a sudden, heartbreaking life-altering event, comes the out-of-pocket expenses that no one ever expects.

Robert (Bob) and Gloria Laurent have been married for 52 years. They have two grown children, Lisa and Robert Jr. Bob has 5 grandchildren, all ranging in age from 3 to 10 years of age. Bob is a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He served as an E-5 Sergeant and was discharged as such. Bob made driving his career; he worked for RTA transit for about 20 years. He also worked for Walmart for about 19 years alongside many family members and friends. Bob loves muscle cars, listening to the Oldies, and model railroading.

We are asking for help for this family to be able to help pay for the medical bills of the upcoming radiation treatments, chemo, CT scans, etc. Also, as we look toward the future, we are collecting funds and help towards the impending funeral and after-death expenses the family is bound to encounter.

We want to thank you in advance for any contributions to help lighten the load for this family in such a time of need. We are praying for our friend and her family. The family will post updates as they come along.

As of the time this page is being created, Bob has a Gamma Knife Radiation procedure to try to diminish the tumors on his brain scheduled for Wednesday, April 9, 2025, and is set to begin Chemotherapy Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

4/12 update. So Bob got sick last week and it became too much this week for him to do treatment. He has had the flu all week and he is being treated for some kind of possible underlying infection. He is having severe breathing issues and congestion. He isn't strong enough to push it out so he has been receiving breathing treatments and other medications. He coded last night but he is managing to hang in there. He now has fractured ribs on both sides and with testing they have found new tumors that were not there 2 weeks ago. He also has a fractured shoulder and broken collarbone. He fell on ice and thats how this all began. He has been in so much pain. We took him this past Wednesday for the radiation. All his vitals were bad, they cancelled the radiation and we had to take him right to the er where he has been ever since. Radiation and chemo will be pushed back. I will give another update as things change. Thank you

4/24. Yesterday 4/23 made 2 weeks my dad Bob had been in the hospital fighting this sickness. He had developed the flu that turned into bacterial pneumonia and came down with sepsis and also heart failure among other health issues. Bob passed away late afternoon. He fought so hard to stay here with us. Please help if you can and we will post funeral arrangements as soon as we know. Thank you to everyone. We greatly appreciate all the support of friends and family. This all happened much faster than expected. Bob was never even able to make it to treatments for the cancer, but at least he is no longer suffering in this life. We love our dad, grandfather and husband, friend. May he rest in peace. He will be greatly missed.

5/13/1948-4/23/2025. Dad was 76.
