Donate to Ease Barb's Cancer Journey

Dear Friends and Family,

On June 16, 2024, I got a call from my sister, Barb; she told me she was in the hospital suffering from severe pain. Several tests were done, and later that day, she was diagnosed with cancer. She spent a week in the hospital, followed by months of testing and two different biopsies. Finally, on October 24, 2024, they removed the mass. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which had spread to the pelvic area. They did a full hysterectomy and removed all the cancer that was visible to the eye. Starting in December, she will receive one chemotherapy infusion every three weeks for a total of six infusions. The chemotherapy will treat any cancer in the microscopic areas the eye can't see.

Upon receiving this devastating news, we are faced with another harsh reality of the expenses she and her family are suffering. These past few years have been a hardship for many, and it is so difficult to ask for help during these times. But I want my sister to focus on her health and the fight she is facing rather than the effect this is having on their finances.

Barb is supported by her husband Pat and her daughters Kelli and Karra. Kelli and her husband Eric had their first baby, Clare, in August. Because of this diagnosis, Barb was not able to be at the birth, nor could she visit Clare. At this time, we are unsure when Barb and Pat will meet their sweet, beautiful granddaughter. Karra is a nurse in Virginia and has returned to California to be with her mom and dad for both hospital stays and the recent surgery; she has taken multiple days off work. Her professional knowledge and support have been a true blessing to her family.

Barb worked decreased hours these past few months to attend doctor's appointments and testing. She has been off work recovering from surgery and will need to be off for another four weeks.

My sister has always done so much for myself and others. I am hoping by doing this, we will ease her burden so that she can use all her energy to focus on this battle she is facing.

If you would like to assist with her financial needs, every dollar counts and is greatly appreciated. All funds will go directly to Barb to meet her financial obligations, medical costs, and travel expenses for treatments.
