My dad, Adam, was diagnosed with aggressive stage 5 cancer at the end of last year. Since he got the diagnosis his cancer has spread from his prostate into his hip lymph node and his skeleton from skull down on his right side and across his pelvis. He was given 12-14 months in november if chemo doesn't slow it down, and up to 3-5 years if so. He does chemo every 21 days, had multiple doctors visits in between, and is in and out of the hospital.
Adam is a great man. Throughout his life he has done so much. He's beaten addiction, became a dad, been an amazing Saba(grandfather) to my 3 girls, been an EMT, a firefighter, a chaplain with Victim Relief helping people in troubled times, and studied hard to become one of the pastors at our local church leading Sunday school every week. He's helped deliver babies and held hands with people on their worst days. He is strong, smart, and a wonderful man to all who know him.
Since being diagnosed, he has had to stop working. He's fighting to get on disability as him and mom are both now disabled, but they said it could be 6+ months before they receive anything. They currently have no income now and bills are stacking up, between mortgage, utilities, credit cards, gas for appointments, as well as any medical bills not covered by insurance. He may need at home care or a respite home soon, and insurance won't cover it.
If you could donate anything, it'd be really appreciated, and if you can't, please share. I want to help my dad thrive through this transition in life instead of fighting to stay afloat. Thank you.
