Hi everyone, my name is Dwight Dillon. I was born and raised in Jamaica and later migrated to Florida, where I now live in Orlando. My roots and my heart are still deeply connected to the island that shaped who I am today.
This year, I’m taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life — running my first marathon, 26.2 miles — and I’m doing it for a greater purpose.
I’m running to raise funds for two causes that mean a lot to me:
️ Jamaica Hurricane Support – to help families and communities rebuild and recover after the devastating storms that impact the island.
DonorsChoose.org – to help teachers and students across the U.S. get the classroom supplies and learning resources they need to thrive.
I’ve always believed in staying mentally and physically strong, not just for myself, but to be in a better position to help others. Training for this marathon has been tough — early mornings, sore muscles, and long miles — but every step reminds me how fortunate I am to have the health and opportunity to give back.
Running 26.2 miles is symbolic for me — it represents perseverance, resilience, and hope. And I want to use that energy to uplift others who are fighting their own battles.
