At Tom Ro Haven for Equines & Children, these stories are being rewritten.

On this small farm outside Cape Town, rescued, starving horses—once whipped, ridden with injuries, and raced into the ground, literally —stand quietly while children who have survived sex trafficking learn to breathe again.

A child who flinched at every sound now finds safety brushing a gentle mare. A teenage girl who was sold to gangs now leads a powerful gelding with a soft voice and a steady hand.

Step by step, trust returns to themselves, to their bodies, to the possibility of a future.
