Donate to Doug Ough to help him in his fight with cancer

Please consider donating to my brother-in-law Doug Ough to help him in his fight with cancer.

Doug was recently diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy and transfusions several times a week in Salmon Arm. At some point in the future he will need to travel to Vancouver for more extensive treatment and potentially a bone marrow transplant. He will likely be there for an extended period of time.

Doug isn’t able to work, drive or manage day to day tasks because of his illness. His wife Tasha is also not able to work because she needs to care for Doug, take him to his hospital appointments and keep their home and affairs in order.

Additionally, their older manufactured home requires some fairly extensive work including updating the electrical for CSA Silver Label certification and bathroom repairs. Because of Doug’s compromised health it’s important that his home environment is kept as clean and safe as possible.

We are trying to raise funds for them to help pay for necessities like bills and food as well as helping them to pay for the expense of a prolonged stay in Vancouver while Doug undergoes treatment there. We would also like to help raise funds to do the necessary upgrades to their home.

Doug has a big heart and has often stepped in to help other friends and family members in times of need, often giving up his days off and money he couldn’t really spare.

Doug and Tasha were married only just a year ago. We’d like to try to take away some of their financial burden so they can concentrate on his health and hopefully have many more happy years together.
