My name is Danaé and for the past two weeks, my family and I have been living through something we never imagined. My twin sister, Danica “DK,” was found unresponsive after falling into a diabetic coma and was rushed to the hospital. Since October 21, 2025, she’s been fighting for her life in the ICU at Piedmont Hospital.
Every moment has been filled with an array of emotions that has caused us to rely on prayer, faith, and family. DK has always been the strong one, the one who makes everyone laugh, who speaks her mind, and who never gives up no matter how hard life gets. She’s a hardworking truck driver who’s spent her life on the road, providing for herself and helping others whenever she could. She’s a loving aunt, niece, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend—but to me, she’s something even deeper: my womb mate.
Seeing her in this situation has been heartbreaking, but I know God is not done with her yet. We are believing for a full recovery.
While she fights her way back to us, we’re asking for help to ease the financial strain this has caused by covering her living costs, and the financial obligations piling up while she’s unable to work. My prayer is that when DK comes home, she can focus entirely on healing and not on how to rebuild from the financial hardship this has brought.
If you can give, share, or pray it all means the world to us. Every bit of love and support reminds us that we’re not alone, and that DK’s story is still being written one of strength, faith, and healing.
Thank you for believing with us. God bless you.
