I will be running the Boston Marathon on April 21, 2025. I will be running in honor of Sergeant Dennis “DJ” Simmonds of the Boston Police Department. Sergeant Simmonds tragically lost his life a decade ago, just a year after the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, due to injuries sustained in the firefight in Watertown. He passed away at just 28 years old and had already admirably served the Boston Police Department for six years.

In honor of his legacy, his family has established the Dennis DJ Simmonds Scholarship Foundation. This foundation awards scholarships to students continuing their education in the criminal justice profession. Your generosity will not only commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of Sergeant Simmonds but will also support the education of future heroes like him.
