Help Dillon DeLong Overcome Health Struggles

Hi, my name is Ashley, and I’m the girlfriend of Dillon DeLong. For the past couple of months, Dillon has been battling severe and ongoing health issues that have left us both exhausted and uncertain of what lies ahead.

It all started in December when Dillon began experiencing symptoms that seemed like a flu bug. After a couple of weeks, things only got worse—he started losing blood and dealing with severe discomfort. After a hospital visit, he was diagnosed with colitis, which progressed to a diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis and a complicated case of blood clots in his leg. The road to finding answers has been nothing short of overwhelming.

Dillon’s condition worsened quickly—his leg became swollen and purple, making it incredibly difficult, for him to walk. Multiple trips to the ER followed, including trips to Iowa City Hospital where they discovered his leg was severely blocked by clots. He’s now had two thrombectomy procedures and is on blood thinners, but his recovery has been slow and burdened by setbacks. Along the way, insurance issues have delayed critical treatments, adding immense stress to an already terrifying situation.

Through it all, Dillon has faced not only physical pain but also the emotional toll of missing out on time with his kids and his ability to work. He worries about his health, his livelihood, and the future. I have watched him go through this with unimaginable strength, but we are both at the mercy of a system that feels like it’s holding him back.

Many of you have reached out and offered to help, and I’m so grateful for that. Since this is all new to me, I wasn’t quite sure what to set the goal amount as, so I followed GoFundMe’s suggestion. With that said, I’ve set up this page for those who are interested in donating. Your donations will go directly toward supporting Dillon in whatever way he needs as he continues to navigate this difficult journey—whether it’s for medical bills, daily expenses, or other unforeseen challenges.

We still don’t know when this will end, and there are many unknowns ahead—more procedures, more waiting, and more hurdles to face. This fund will allow Dillon to focus on healing without the added stress of financial strain.
