Donate to Devin's Journey for Health and Independence

Hello, I work with Devin Corwin-Herrick at our Jr/Sr High School in Osborne, KS. Devin was born with a very rare disease called Loeys-Dietz Syndrome, which affects the connective tissues in his body. Since he was born, Devin has been a fighter and strives to do everything he can independently, especially if someone says he can't!

On September 25th, Devin had heart surgery to fix a leaky valve, but the surgery was unsuccessful. Open heart surgery will be next, but it is not a good option at this time. In July of this year, Devin was finally able to move into his own apartment to be as independent as he can be. After surgery, Devin was released from the hospital 4 days later, but the next week he ended up having to go to the ER with trouble breathing. They ended up sending him by ambulance to KU Med in Kansas City, where he spent 8 more days in the hospital. His mom, Stephanie, has been by his side every day through all of this. Because of this, she has not been able to work, so I am hoping we can raise money to help Devin since he has been unable to work and Stephanie has missed a lot of days to be with him in the hospital.

The time out of work, gas to get to Kansas City for his surgeries, appointments, and hospitalizations have been taking a toll on this wonderful family. I ask that you open your hearts and help us raise money to help pay for his medical bills, housing, gas, daily expenses, and anything else that pops up through this journey. 10/14--Devin went in for a checkup and ended up being admitted since his carbon dioxide levels were too high. Stephanie did come back home to work and her mother Georgia is able to stay with him at the hospital this week. This is hard on the whole family.
