Help Support Debbie Staarmann's Medical Treatment Journey
Debbie has dedicated her life to serving others - as a beloved EE teacher at Southside Christian School, through her work at Furman University, and most recently at the United States Postal Office in Simpsonville. Anyone who has worked alongside Debbie knows her as someone who gives her all to everything she does.
Nearly three years ago, Debbie began experiencing concerning neurological symptoms that have progressively worsened over time. Recently, she was diagnosed with Cerebellar Ataxia of vestibular dysfunction bilateral at the Birmingham Functional Neurology Center. This serious neurological condition affects her central nervous system, causing:
Continuous involuntary body movements
Significant vision problems
Speech difficulties
Inability to walk
The gradual progression of these symptoms over the past three years has significantly impacted her ability to work, even though she still lives independently, making treatment more important than ever.
The Treatment is at the Birmingham Functional Neurology Center.
There is hope through this specialized treatment, but the costs are significant:
$350 per hour
4 hours per week
3-week treatment cycles
Debbie has already completed her first three-week treatment cycle and has shown encouraging signs of improvement. Her next round of treatment is scheduled to begin December 2nd in Birmingham.
While Debbie was able to fund her initial treatment cycle, she needs support to continue this promising therapy. Her sons, Grant and Alex, have been helping with transportation and visits, but the medical expenses are beyond what the family can manage alone.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference in helping Debbie continue her treatment and work toward recovery. Your support will directly help cover her medical expenses as she works to be able to remain at home.
Please continue to pray for Debbie!
