Deanna's Fight for Health and Hope

My Aunt Deanna (Gaylord), who has one of the most pure hearts I’ve ever met, is currently battling breast cancer. She was diagnosed on June 12, 2024, with stage 3 Invasive ductal carcinoma. Her first chemo treatment was on July 10th. She currently works at Red Wing but because of her chemo, all the doctor appointments and let’s just be honest… she’s exhausted, she is missing so much work. As of Friday, August 2nd, she will be on leave until the end of December or after.

She is not married and has no children so all of the caretaking, transporting, etc. has fallen on her sister (my mother). My mom is happy to be at her beck and call during this journey, however, since she is not ‘immediate family’ she was not approved for an intermittent leave of absence through her employer.

Any money raised will be used to cover the costs of missed income, transportation costs, food, added copays and medical fees, etc. The list goes on and on. My aunt is also a type 1 diabetic and has been since the young age of 12. In so many ways, she is one of the strongest women I know. And I am confident she can get through this but she needs all the help she can get.

She is truly the sweetest most gentle soul who has been handed tribulation after tribulation but continues to love with all she has.
