On December 29th, Darcy went to the ER with what she thought was chest pain. During testing they decided to do a CT scan which resulted in a lesion showing up on her T4 vertebrae in her spine. This prompted an MRI and an emergency decompression surgery on that area. This also caused Darcy to almost immediately become paralyzed from the chest down. 

On NYE,  she had major deconstructive surgery on her spine. Throughout this journey, an amazing team of doctors were working on trying to figure out what caused this sudden injury.

After many blood tests, scans, etc. It was discovered that Darcy has multiple myeloma cancer.  She has started radiation and will then have 6 months of chemo with stem cell transplants following. During this time Darcy will be in a rehabilitation center to get her mobility back. This could be a really long process because of the severity of her spinal injury on the T4 vertebrae. 


The medical costs are rising and the recovery costs will soon follow. We are asking family and friends to help and donate in any way possible as we navigate this journey as a family. Darcy is such an amazing mom, partner, friend, and overall amazing woman. The positivity and courage that Darcy radiates is inspiring. We appreciate everyone's help, positive thoughts and prayers.
