My brother Daniel Palama was involved in an accident on Wednesday, 10/22. He was hit while riding his motorcycle on the way to work by a careless driver. After reaching out and speaking with an attorney, it was discovered that the other driver did not carry bodily injury liability, and Daniel does not carry uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. This means that Daniel will be responsible for the majority of his hospital bills/rehab. Thankfully, he does have health insurance, so the amount requested will cover his out-of-pocket maximum for this year and next year and some miscellaneous medical bills that come up as well.

He suffered many broken/fractured bones, including but not limited to his wrist, 6 ribs, hip, pelvis, clavicle, scapula, and a hairline fracture in neck. He also had multiple surgeries for internal injuries.

He has undergone a total of 5 surgeries in less than 2 weeks. Two surgeries to remove and repair part of his colon, one to place plates and pins in his wrist, one to fix his hip/pelvis, and one to save his kidney.

He has a long recovery ahead of him.
