On Wednesday May 14th 2025, my beloved son, Damien Johannie McGowan, was involved in a horrible motorcycle accident. He was traveling along the highway when a van swerved into his path, causing him to crash and flip onto the roadway. Damien has suffered horrific injuries including a broken leg, brain/head trauma and internal bleeding.

Damien is currently in the ICU and has been placed in a medically induced coma. He is able to express that he can hear us through groans and tears as we visit him daily. Doctors and medical staff are hopeful but it is a long and expensive journey ahead for any semblance of recovery.

Damien is a pleasant, warm-spirited and humble person. His energy is calm and he is always greeting individuals with a joke to see them smile and laugh. Damien professionally worked in hospitality at a local hotel, in the water sports division; aiding guests at the hotel to explore the ease and wanderous feels of the sea and ocean. The love and passion he has for his career, is why everyone enjoys being around him so much.

This fundraising campaign is dedicated to supporting his medical care for surgeries, any rehabilitation, and the associated costs that lie ahead on his long road to recovery and regaining his health. He has to be transferred to another Hospital with more advanced technology and physicians to support his care is his delicate state.
