Update on baby Dallas.
***Dallas is now four months old and has proven the doctors wrong time and time again. She has been home for a couple of months, but is unable to eat from a bottle very well. She has a G tube and is getting physical and other therapies three times a week. Dallas is struggling with seizures and the doctors have been trying to find the right dose of seizure medications for her. She is going to need continued care and therapy to continue to thrive and progress.
The two months that Dallas spent in the NICU were extremely expensive. Insurance has paid a large portion, but there isstill a large balance that is their responsibility.
The family is deeply appreciative of all the prayer warriors who have kept them in continual prayer and for everyone who has felt led to donate to Dallas’ cause.
We are asking for continued prayers and any monetary help you can offer.
Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts! ***
Though it's been a rough start, Courtney and Dylan Younger have welcomed their baby girl, Dallas, to the world. They are parents to three-year-old twin boys, and all four of them were beyond excited to meet her. Here is her story, written by close family members helping facilitate so mom and dad can focus on what's most important, their family.
On Thursday, September 22, 2022, ten days before Courtney was due; she started hemorrhaging. She immediately gathered the boys and headed to the hospital, 45 minutes away. Her in-laws met her as Dylan was working a two-hour drive away from home. The doctors performed an emergency C-section within ten minutes of arriving at the hospital, and baby Dallas was out in the world. Tragically, her heart was not beating. The doctors worked on her for more than ten minutes and finally got Dallas' heart started! Courtney, in the meantime, had lost a tremendous amount of blood and needed a transfusion. Both mama and baby were in dire straits.
Dallas has been in the NICU for a week now. For the first 72 hours, the doctors cooled her body temperature to give her some time to recover. When they first warmed her back up, things seemed to be going well, but later that day, she became unresponsive, not moving at all, not trying to breathe on her own, and not responding to light or touch. The doctors found that Dallas had a couple of tiny brain bleeds that they believed were causing the unresponsiveness.
Family and friends have rallied around this beautiful family, and countless prayers have been said, and slowly, Dallas has been showing signs of improvement. She is now responding to light and touch, breathing independently for extended periods, and making small movements. Courtney is on the mend, and out of the hospital, after a second transfusion the day after her C-section. She and Dylan are spending every minute they can with Dallas and can finally hold her after five long days.
There is still a long way to go for baby Dallas, but with your help, Courtney and Dylan will be able to get her the medical help she needs. We don’t know how long Dallas will be in the NICU; her condition changes daily. We ask for your support and prayers for complete healing for Dallas. Any contribution to help lessen the financial burden on this young family is greatly appreciated. All donations will help cover a growing hospital bill and any future follow-up treatments she may need.
