Hello! My name is Cynthia.
Last June 2020, after being cancer free for over 9 years, I received the most devasting news. I remember feeling really sick and going to the ER thinking it was COVID, but instead it was Cancer knocking at my door a second time around. This time a Bone Marrow was a must and luckily, I was blessed and found a donor. I received the Bone Marrow Transplant back in October 2020 and unfortunately a month after my body was attacked by GVHD. Due to this complication, I was put on high doses of IV steroids which lead to more complications to where doctors did not think I was going to survive.
Unfortunately, due to the high doses of steroids my joints suffer the consequences. I have had left shoulder replacement and most recently Hip replacement and still have a few replacements before I can get back on my feet. I have not been able to go back to work this past almost 5 years since the transplant. So, to say that it has been hard emotionally, physically, and financially it’s an understatement.
I have been as my friends say, "to hell and back” but despite all the hospital stays, infections, and many more complications I continue to fight by staying strong, resilient, positive, and most importantly faithful that I will get through this long recovery journey. Like I mentioned earlier right now I am recovering from Hip replacement and would truly appreciate some help to alleviate the financial burden. I ask if it’s in your heart to lend me a helping hand to please do so. Unfortunately, I still have a few surgeries coming up which prevent me from going back to work so I can provide for myself.
The money raised will be used for daily living expenses, food, bills, rent, gas, and parking fees when I got to doctor's appointments. So, if it's in your heart to give me a helping I thank you in advance. If you are not able to help, I ask for good vibes and if you can share with family and friends that will mean so much to me.
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
