Please, please Donate any amount Chris needs help.
My name is Jeff Holland. I was at a time in my life 40 years ago where I had no hope. I had a friend, Chris, that I only knew a few months who turned my life around with hope and true friendship. Chris is now in a situation and needs help, and I am going to do everything I can to help him. Please keep reading; I'll make this as short as I can.
Chris has lived in the same house since I have known him. He lives next to his landlord, a great lady who lost her husband 25 years ago. She and Chris have always been close. Chris's house is a small two-bedroom, one-bath. Sara's house is almost the same. Chris went to her around 11 years ago about a rent-to-own deal. She agreed, had a contract drawn up, and Chris is now paying for a home he can have in retirement, a worry he had for a while. Things looked up, and years went by. Chris fell in the shower, broke his hip, and has been out of work for three months. He had problems with infection that put him out of work that long. He has been on the same job now for 15 or more years, and his boss saved his job but couldn't help in the financial situation.
I'll make the real problem of this fundraiser to the point. Sara's daughter is now in charge of her mother's finances. She has known about the rent-to-own for some time now but is trying to get him out to sell both houses. Chris had enough money with help from Aid Atlanta to hire a lawyer, but that took it all. The contract's legal, but Chris has until July 15th to catch up on payments. She can't do anything if he is up on payments. Chris will be up on his payments with $3,800. Like me and most people, it might as well be three million. Chris never goes out to eat or anything else that would, in his words, waste money. Chris doesn't owe much over ten thousand on the house, but I'm helping him catch up on payments so he can stay there. When he is up on payments, there is nothing she can do. Sara has hired the same lawyer to put the contract in a trust after all is done and payments are back on regular payments. Please, please help me help Chris. I really am begging whatever you can give. Thank you in advance. Jeff
