On Friday, 11/8/24, I left for an appointment and there was about 30-45 minutes of interval until Matthew came home from work. Nothing unusual was out of our normal routine with Maggie and Tony being left home.
Within those 30-45 minutes, Tony managed to eat some plastic window blinds.
We rushed Tony to the emergency vet on Saturday morning due to him vomiting.
He was immediately put on IV fluids, pain medication, and anti-nausea. X-rays found that he had sharp pieces of the blinds lodged in his stomach and intestines.
We first tried the non-surgical method in hopes that he would naturally pass the pieces in his stool.
After 12 hours, unfortunately, he wasn’t able to and surgery was needed.
In the middle of his GI tract surgery, we received a call from the surgeon letting us know that his spleen was extremely enlarged and was bleeding and that it needed to be removed as it can cause cancer.
Poor Tony had to undergo 2 types of life saving surgery on 11/10.
As of right now, he is on his road to full recovery!!
Due to the unforeseen events, the cost of his care has put a large dent into our financial health. We are asking for your help and donation to help cover his surgical cost.
Tony, Maggie (Tony’s big sister), Matthew, and I thank you very much for your help and support and we are eternally grateful.
