Donate to cover Jackson’s brain injury medical treatments

My name is Patti and I am the mother of a son with Traumatic Brain Injury. I’ve started this GoFundMe in hopes of raising money for his brain health and recovery.

In 2012 Jackson was a strong, well trained defensive MVP football player who sustained a serious concussion - immediate rest and treatment was needed at that time but sadly no protocol was followed. After one concussion, there is greater susceptibility to sustaining others, as is the case with Jackson. He has suffered multiple concussions.

Specific affected areas of Jackson’s brain make it difficult if not impossible to wake. His quality of life has been seriously impacted as he will often sleep through entire days.

Any chance of a social life or time with family is taken over by experiencing pain and exhaustion, or his need to make up extra hours at work for the days he missed. Jackson had to give up sports and running due to his injuries. Going to the gym is part of his recovery, however opportunities to work out are often sacrificed due to sleeping or experiencing too much pain from migraines.

Jackson's treatments for his brain trauma over the past 12 years include Botox injections for his head, weekly acupuncture sessions, self-administered injections, massage therapy, physiotherapy, cupping and a range of medications.

One notable treatment that has shown promise for Jackson is neurofeedback therapy. This therapy involves sessions using a specialized machine called the swLORETA (Low-Resolution Electromagnetic Tomography) system which provides detailed images of brain activity. Each session costs approximately $937.50. In addition to neurofeedback, Jackson needs a Biofeedback Helmet ($4000), Electromagnetic Stimulation Pad ($380), and regular clinical sessions ($225 per session, with a total of 18 sessions completed and an expected 16-18 more sessions).

These treatments are making a difference in Jackson’s brain health and offering hope for a brighter future, however they are not covered by insurance and continued treatment is financially burdensome and unsustainable without external support.

Jackson is a kind and generous young man who deserves a chance to have a future free of so much pain and trauma. The funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will directly contribute to covering the costs of Jackson's ongoing treatments, therapies and devices. No donation is too small and every act of kindness is deeply appreciated.
