Grizz, Rick, Grandpa was the type to help out anyone in need. His abrupt passing left some unexpected costs neither he nor I were able to plan for. Any donation, big or small, will go directly towards death and cremation costs, travel costs, unforeseen financial burdens, and a small celebration of life to scatter his ashes as his location of request.
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of George "Grizz" Blake, lovingly known as Grizz, who left us peacefully on February 17, 2025. Born on June 8, 1950, Grizz was a beacon of joyful radiance and supportive love throughout his lifetime.
Grizz dedicated his life to the simple, yet profound philosophy of helping others. He believed that if we can help just one person, we have helped many, and this guiding principle was evident in all his interactions and deeds. His considerable accomplishments included his hard-earned sobriety, a powerful testament to his strength and resilience.
His free time was occupied by recreational pursuits such as Rockhounding and Gold Mining – hobbies that showcased his adventurous spirit and appreciation for the natural world. Those who knew Grizz could always count on his loving heart and cheerful disposition, two qualities that made him a joy to be around.
Grizz is survived by his loving, devoted daughter, Chya Thompson, and his son, James Thompson. The light of his life was his granddaughter, Delanie Thompson.
Grizz's legacy will forever be one of kindness and generosity – values he lived by and imparted to those around him. As we remember Grizz, we are all called to live by these values, keeping his spirit alive in our hearts and actions. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a void filled only by endearing memories and an enduring love.
