My name is Jozi and I’ve created this fund on behalf of Sam, David’s only daughter.

On Tuesday night, during a violent windstorm, a live wire fell onto David’s truck. Believing it was safe, he tried to protect one of the objects that mattered most to him—and in that heartbreaking moment, he was tragically electrocuted.

That truck wasn’t just a vehicle. It was his lifeline. It kept him safe, got him to work every day, and symbolized the fresh start he had fought so hard to build. After facing years of hardship, David had finally found hope again. He had just started a job with someone who truly recognized his gifts—his craftsmanship, his loyalty, his kindness. For the first time in a long time, he could breathe. He could dream again.

David didn’t have life insurance or a backup plan. Like many who work with their hands and live paycheck to paycheck, he gave everything to keep going day to day, week to week. Now, Sam is left trying to pick up the pieces and give him the farewell he deserves.
