Corrie is a go-to for so many and an inspiration to everyone who knows her. She has dedicated her life to giving to others—coaching and supporting her kids’ sports teams, volunteering at fundraisers, and always being there for family and friends.
This past year, Corrie’s life took an unexpected turn. A routine check-up revealed two rare and distinct cancer diagnoses, each requiring its own complex treatment plan. These cancers were so extraordinary that doctors from across the globe reviewed her case. Treatment posed a daunting challenge: Corrie had to fight one cancer before she could even begin addressing the other. Each day, she lived with the weight of knowing the untreated cancer could potentially spread while she focused on the first. The clock was ticking, and Corrie faced one battle while preparing for the next
Corrie’s fighter mentality shone brightly throughout her journey. Stubborn in the best way, she was determined to face every obstacle head-on while keeping life as normal as possible for those around her. She had hoped to quietly fight the battle to preserve normalcy, but even as her hair began to fall out, she remained a beacon of positivity and strength. Her resolve to stay upbeat and push through with grace inspired everyone around her.
Her commitment to her family and maintaining a sense of normalcy was unwavering. Just weeks after completing chemotherapy and before undergoing surgery for her second cancer, Corrie found the strength to decorate for the holidays. She ensured her family could celebrate with joy and togetherness, prioritizing creating special moments for those she loves despite immense challenges.
While battling for her own survival, Corrie also stood by her son through his health challenges, supporting him through difficult times while undergoing her own grueling treatments. At the same time, her daughter began college and joined the collegiate soccer team. Corrie made this transition as special and memorable as possible—traveling to help her move, attending as many games as she could, and celebrating this exciting chapter. Despite enduring rigorous treatments, Corrie placed her family’s joy and milestones above all else, no matter the toll her illness took.
Throughout her fight, Corrie’s husband has stood by her side. His dedication involved taking time off work to travel with her to appointments, treatments, and surgeries. While his time away has added to the family’s financial challenges, his presence has been an invaluable source of strength and comfort for Corrie.
In November, Corrie underwent surgery to remove the second form of cancer, a large tumor pressing on her lung and vital organs. Now, as Corrie continues her recovery, she faces the mounting costs of medical care, including ongoing treatments, travel, and follow-ups. The financial burden is overwhelming, and her journey is far from over.
Corrie has always given her time, energy, and love to those around her. Now, it’s our turn to give back. Corrie would never ask for help, which is why her friends, family, and co-workers are stepping up to ask for your support during this time. Your generosity can help ease the financial strain, allowing Corrie to focus on her recovery and her family.
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference. Together, we can help Corrie get back to the life she loves and show her she’s not alone in this fight.
