Donate to Cocoa's Urgent Veterinary Care
Donation protected
Our pets are like family to us, and Laura and Cocoa need your help.
For a dog who is otherwise healthy and spunky, we’re trying to get her out of this critical danger and give her a chance to return to a happy life.
On Saturday 7/20, Cocoa became very sick and was taken to the emergency vet. After running tests, the vet determined that she needed to go to Auburn University’s veterinary school for urgent treatment for unidentified pancreatic lesions and gallbladder mucocele. Further testing at AU revealed the pancreatitis to be necrotizing (severe). As of Wednesday 7/24, Cocoa is still critical but holding steady with targeted treatment of the pancreatic inflammation as well as suspected aspiration pneumonia with fluids, a feeding tube, pain management, and other curative and palliative care.
This was definitely unexpected and there are many unplanned expenses related to the treatment, including the emergency veterinary stay, the stay at Auburn, and any further care, including potential surgery.
Please help us by donating to Cocoa's critical care that Laura is able to make all the necessary decisions about her treatment with no worries about finances. Please also continue to pray for Cocoa and Laura and her family as they navigate decisions and advocate for Cocoa.
Thank you so much! All gestures of kindness are greatly appreciated.
