Donate to Coach Arya for life saving treatment!

Hi there,

My name is Hanna Gaffney and I've created this on behalf of my furry niece Arya Danz, and her family Samantha, Barrett and Cecelia Danz.

So many people know this sweet girl from Crossfit Big Dane in the Madison area. And if you know her, you know she's there to cheer you on, encourage you with kisses, and make you laugh with her silly antics. She's known as "Coach", Arya, White Dog, and by her human sister, "AYA!" She's the best dog-babysitter you could ask for, so gentle and sweet with my baby niece Cece!

Last night tragedy struck when Arya started coughing, shaking, and crying seemingly out of nowhere. The family watched in horror as she ballooned up in an instant, and my sister Samantha struggled to get her into the car to the emergency vet at 8:00pm.

Upon seeing her they determined Arya required emergency clinical care. In "vet speak" she presented with significant ileus (bloating) and required radiography (x-rays) and ultrasounds to determine the cause of her bloating, crying out in pain, shaking and vomiting. She was in critical condition. But the vets at Madison had terrible news. All Madison ER vets were at capacity and unable to take or admit her overnight.

It was now 10:00pm and Samantha was anxiously waiting, exhausted, and checking in with Barrett at home with a very fussy Cece. She finally received some good news, there WAS a bed available. In Waukesha. An hour away.
But they were concerned as to how to stabilize Arya to survive the journey.

Close to 11:30pm they finally found a way to sedate her for the ultrasound and transportation. Samantha was permitted to stop in the back and say hello before Arya went under anesthesia, a brief break from Arya's constant crying in pain. The photo for the gofundme is a snapshot of this moment.

Finally around 2:00am Samantha was permitted to leave with Arya to arrive at the Waukesha Vet. More blood work, more tests. Any dog owner knows how horrible it is to have to watch your little fur child cry for you, unable to tell them, "It's okay! They're here to help! I know it hurts but it'll all be better soon."

Arya At the Vet (this links to a video of her crying at the Vet. If that's too much to hear please skip!)

Samantha finally arrived home at 5:00am, with a very sleepy Arya in tow. That, is the best news we have to offer.

Unfortunately, after one hellish night, they still have no idea what happened or why, or what the root cause was. No ER's have ever seen a case like this. But I know Samantha and Barrett are so grateful to have her home, (on her several medications and monitored closely). She's not out the woods quite yet, but we're hopeful our girl will soon recover!

This horrible night has unfortunately amounted to a huge cost for their family. Between being admitted as a critical patient, x-rays, ultrasounds, blood tests, lab work, medications and sedation the cost just kept rising. It's all worth it to have their fluffy girl home and safe! But the financial burden was definitely unprecedented, as emergencies often are.

So I've decided to ask all of their friends and family to please consider donating to offsetting the incredible cost that saved this little girl's life.

Arya makes friends everywhere she goes, so if you're a friend I know Arya's family would be so grateful for your help. And if you're unable to donate please help us by sharing this gofundme to someone who might be able to provide some assistance!

Thank you for your time and be well. Hug those pets closely (I know I'm squishing my little pup right now typing this), and get that Pet Insurance!
