My name is Chyna. I’m 24 years old, a proud mother to a bright, curious 7-year-old girl and a sweet, adventurous 1-year-old boy. This September, I will finally be starting something I’ve dreamed of for years — nursing school.

My passion for nursing didn’t begin in a classroom — it began in my own home. Growing up, my mother was often sick, and she frequently faced these battles with a smile on her face, where you would’ve never known she was hurting. I often helped care for her, along with taking care of my little sister. I learned early how to comfort, assist, and advocate for someone you love when they can’t do it for themselves.

When I was just 17, I had my daughter, born 3½ months early. She spent weeks in the NICU, surrounded by machines and wires. I still remember the fear in my heart… and the nurses who brought me hope. They explained every step, held my hand when I cried, and treated my baby as if she were their own. That’s when I knew — I wanted to become that kind of nurse for someone else.

It’s been a long journey to get here. I’ve faced setbacks, worked hard while raising my kids, and kept pushing toward my dream. Now, I’ve been accepted into a fast-track LPN program starting September 2nd. But I need help covering my upfront costs before classes begin.

I’m raising $800 to cover:

$700 — School registration & fees (due Sept 1)

$100 — Uniforms, supplies, & CPR certification

This isn’t just about school. It’s about building a better future for my children, honoring my late mother’s memory, and using the compassion I learned through my own life experiences to help others in their most vulnerable moments.
