Some of you may remember about this time four years ago I started a GoFundMe for my sister, Christy Smeal States when she contracted Covid 19.

She was off work in a rehab facility and the funds raised were a blessing.

Unfortunately she has never fully recovered and is considered a "Covid Long Hauler" Her most recent complication is with her liver. She has lost a massive amount of weight in a short time, has no strength or energy, and needs to use a wheelchair when she leaves her home. She will be undergoing a variety of tests to determine if she is a candidate for a liver transplant.

She has pushed herself to continue working the past four years but it has been determined that the time has come to apply for disability. The process for applying is long and complicated. If she is approved the first time she applies, which many are denied, it can take more than a year to receive any assistance. The medical bills she has accumulated the past few years, as well as every day bills and expenses, will be impossible to manage on one income.
