Hi, my name is Christina Simone Coker, and I am raising funds to help cover the cost of my college education as I begin the next chapter of my life at Spelman College, where I will be studying Health Sciences on a Pre-Med Track. My dream is to become a pediatric pulmonologist—a goal born from my own struggles with chronic illness and inspired by the compassionate doctors who supported me through some of the hardest times in my life.
As a child, I spent countless days in and out of hospitals, dealing with health challenges that affected nearly every part of my daily life. While it was a difficult and often isolating experience, it also gave me a unique perspective and deep empathy for others—especially children—facing medical battles of their own. It’s what motivates me to give back through medicine, particularly in underserved and Hispanic communities that often lack access to specialized care.
Throughout high school, I’ve worked incredibly hard to prepare for this moment. I’ve maintained strong academics while also giving up summers to attend intensive enrichment programs like MS2 (Math and Science for Minority Students) at Phillips Acdemy Andover, which helped sharpen my skills and fuel my passion for STEM. I’ve also managed extracurriculars, jobs, and leadership roles—all while dealing with lingering health issues and the emotional toll that comes with them.
Despite these challenges, I’ve never lost sight of my goal. Getting into Spelman—my dream school since i was 6 years old—is an achievement I’m proud of, but the financial burden is daunting. Scholarships and aid have helped, but they don't cover everything. That’s why I’m asking for your support.
Your donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward tuition, housing, books, and supplies—essentials that will help me focus on my studies and continue working toward my dream of becoming a doctor who heals with both skill and compassion.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. If you can’t donate, sharing this page would still mean the world to me. With your help, I’m one step closer to becoming the doctor I needed when I was younger.
With gratitude,
