Donate to Christie's Medical and Care Expenses

I am starting this on behalf of my sister and brother in-law.

Just before Christmas Christie received a ‘pat on the back’ from a co-worker. She began to experience pain in her back that progressively had gotten worse. The doctor did an x-ray and they found a broken vertebrae. She was fitted for a back brace and sent home to heal. Her pain continued to get worse leading to a trip to the ER. They found the break now required surgery , this was on February 5. At that time, they did a biopsy of the vertebrae and reported it was “soft”. She was sent home on the Sunday following her surgery. She fell a number of times and went back to the ER for pain. They discovered a fracture in her right ankle. They admitted her as she was unable to walk.

As tests started to come it it was confirmed she had cancer. At that time they could not confirm where the cancer started or label the type of cancer she has. It is in her pelvic area, lung, and spine.

Her first round of chemotherapy left her with a reaction and they moved to the back up chemo plane. She had a 10 day round of radiation to her spine and two 3 day round of chemo treatments three weeks apart. The radiation left her with a very sore esophagus and not able to eat. She was depleted of her white blood count cells, low hemoglobin, her blood pressure unable to stay stable, and her heart raced. This led to a blood infection. She is now on hospice and has been in the hospital for 2 months. We can not imagine what the final medical bill will be for her care but we want her to continue to receive the care she is getting and if she needs to be in a private pay facility we want to be able to provide that for her. All money donated will go to her medical expenses and expenses occurred to help support her and her care.
