My name is Christian Jamison, and I’m a first-generation college student currently attending John Jay College, pursuing a degree in Computer Science and Information Security. My goal is to enter the field of cybersecurity and help protect the digital world we all rely on.

I’ve worked tirelessly through hardship and loss to get where I am today. I was an honor roll student throughout high school, captain of my varsity football team, and graduated with honors and a 3.7 GPA. During college, I’ve continued that momentum — making the Dean’s List throughout my entire sophomore year.

Since the age of 11, one of my biggest dreams has been to visit Japan — a place that has profoundly shaped me through its culture, cuisine, entertainment, technology, and values. It always felt like a second home, even from afar. Until recently, I didn’t even know that studying abroad was an option, let alone something someone like me could achieve. But now, I’ve been given the opportunity to not only continue my education, but to do so in a country that has inspired me for over a decade.
