My name is Chris Schwartz and I'm a full time volunteer at Omaha Community Bike Project. Recently I had a unfortunate mental health emergency. Among my ankle issues still. Due to these medical issues. The bills have been stacking up. There is due amount of $1950 and some change still owed to get me into physical therapy and now mental therapy.
I have enjoy every moment at the Bike project and appreciate all the encouraging and help.they have given me over the years. It's been a great pleasure to give back to the community and see first hand the smiles and excitement that has come from that.
So here's the breakdown and explanation..
Therapy is $40 co pay every visit. PT and mental therapy. That's a total of $80+ twice a month. The $1950 would take care of majority of the copay that insurance is pushing upfront and pay somewhat of what I owe in back backpay.
I've been on disability now for almost 15 years and I have always thought not to ask for help but after this last mental health crisis I have learned that it's okay to ask for help. Any and all help in this moment of my life would be greatly appreciated. I want to get back on my feet mentally stronger and come back to the shop a healthier and stronger person. The community bike project has become like a second home to me and I want to be able to continue providing services and enjoyment to the community. The ones that I have helped so far the bonds that I have made. I've learned from this crisis that I have made friends. There are people out there that do care about me and appreciate what I've done.
I don't know what else to say at this moment. This is new for me. Again, I appreciate and look forward to all the assistance that Amy and all of you may provide. Thank you for understanding
Your shop mechanic Chris
