My name is Glenda Matthews! The Saturday night before Easter, my son, Chris Matthews, was taken to the hospital in Winters, Texas, with chest pains. From there, he was transferred to Hendrick Hospital in Abilene, Texas. There, they discovered he had fluid around his heart. Early on Easter Sunday, Chris went into surgery to drain the fluid. During the surgery, the doctor discovered that the blood pressure in his lungs was three times what it should be, which was causing the heart to work harder. He was put on a vent and taken to ICU. On Monday morning, we were told that he was going back into surgery to put a temporary heart pump in. When the doctor came out to talk to my husband and me, he gave us no hope! That is something parents do not want to hear! I immediately called on prayer warriors, and in just a few hours, we had people all across the US praying! Today, Chris is a true miracle of God and prayers!

Now, the reason he needs a GoFundMe account is because he had no insurance! We managed to get him on an insurance plan, but only for hospitalization that started the day after he got out of the hospital. Chris is not able to work, and the bills keep coming in. At the moment, Chris is living with his dad and me while he is recuperating. We help him all we can, but we're on a tight budget. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
