Help Us After a Heartbreaking Emergency – Support Chloe’s Recovery

Hi, friends, family, and kind strangers.

We’re reaching out with heavy hearts. Our beloved dog Chloe recently went through an emergency that changed everything.

Chloe was pregnant with four puppies. As soon as we discovered her pregnancy, we did what we thought was right: we enrolled her in pet insurance with Nationwide, hoping it would protect her and her babies in case of an emergency.

But disaster struck.

One of the puppies became stuck during delivery, and Chloe was rushed to the emergency vet. The only way to save her life—and possibly the puppies—was an emergency C-section. It was terrifying. The vets tried everything. In the end, we were only able to save 2 out of 4 puppies. The loss was devastating.

Then came the $5,135.74 bill.

We submitted a claim with Nationwide, confident it would be covered. But they denied everything, saying the pregnancy was a “pre-existing condition”—even though we signed her up the moment we knew she was pregnant. Not a single penny was reimbursed.

To make things worse, Nationwide sent us a letter canceling Chloe’s insurance shortly after the claim.

We’ve attached all the documentation to be completely transparent.

On top of it all, we had to call out of work to care for Chloe after her major surgery. She was in pain, recovering physically and emotionally—but still, she was an incredible mom. Despite her suffering, she lovingly cared for her two puppies, feeding and nurturing them every step of the way. Her strength and love moved us to tears.

This was our first and last time going through something like this. We didn’t expect the pain. We didn’t expect to lose two babies. We didn’t expect to be left alone with the financial burden.
