If you're a dog owner or trainer, you’ve likely heard of Cheri Lucas, who has without a doubt influenced your journey. Through her workshops, consultations, and speaking engagements, Cheri empowers leaders—both in life and with their dogs—using gentle, intuitive, and effective methods. She has touched countless lives, offering hope and lasting solutions to even the most challenging behavioral issues.

Cheri is also a key figure in the rescue community. As the founder of Second Chance at Love Humane Society, a no-kill organization established in 1994, she has made a lasting impact on dogs often overlooked. The shelter provides a loving home for Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, senior dogs, and those without advocates. Over the years, Second Chance at Love has rescued and rehomed more than 5,000 dogs, many of whom were scheduled for euthanasia in high-kill shelters. The organization offers excellent medical care, high-quality food, and basic training to all dogs in its care, ensuring they are matched with adopters whose lifestyles align with their needs.

However, Second Chance at Love needs our support. As a volunteer-run organization, they rely on donations to continue their important work. The financial demands are constant. Cheri and her team have given countless dogs a second chance, but they cannot continue this life-saving work without our help. Every donation goes toward covering essentials, such as vet visits, food, and supplies.

By supporting Second Chance at Love, we help ensure that dogs deserving of a second chance receive the love and care they need to thrive. Your contribution will keep this mission going and give more dogs the fresh start they deserve.

Cheri’s strength, compassion, and leadership make her a role model for all, especially women. Let’s come together to support her and Second Chance at Love, a cause that has already changed so many lives.

ABOUT SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE

Second Chance at Love Humane Society is a no-kill animal welfare organization, founded in 1994 by renowned dog-behaviorist, Cheri Lucas, for our society’s dog outcasts. Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, and other strong-willed breeds, senior citizen dogs, dogs without advocates are all welcomed to Second Chance at Love.

In a world where animal “shelters” are often just stopovers on the way to euthanasia - where abandoned, neglected, abused, and troubled pets are condemned for the carelessness of humans - there is a place where dogs get a second chance at life, love, and happiness.

Second Chance at Love Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, 91-181621. We are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of dogs in dire need. We are located in Templeton, CA, San Luis Obispo County.
