Cheri Charles, a longtime member of the community, was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma after suffering a brain bleed on June 1, 2024, during a visit to Aurora, Colorado. She was rushed to AdventHealth in Parker, Colorado. Since then, she has been hospitalized two more times, due to adverse reactions to the immunotherapy treatments, and is currently recovering after another brain bleed and being transported via helicopter to AdventHealth, where she was resuscitated and placed on a ventilator. The ventilator was removed and she is alert and recovering nicely thanks to the amazing doctors and hospital staff in the Intensive Care Unit. Cheri still has a lot of life left to live with her husband(Elwood) of 55 years and her seven children all of whom love her very much, due to her amazing maternal instincts and love for them that knows no boundaries. Medication that hasn’t been covered by her insurance and the incurred travel, hotel, and meal expenses have been a challenge for her and the family throughout the summer.
