“Let us never underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of care, for it can have the power to change a life.” -Leo Buscaglia
Chase Miller, who celebrated his 15th birthday on December 9th, faces a daunting challenge as he battles a rare form of brain cancer (a high-grade anaplastic astrocytoma), diagnosed on May 22, 2023, a day that changed everything. Despite the heartbreaking news, Chase and his family have demonstrated remarkable resilience and unwavering determination. Chase truly embodies the spirit of a "Warrior." They've made the courageous decision to stop chemotherapy, since it was no longer working, and instead pursue clinical trials, hoping to slow the tumor's growth while savoring every moment of life.
To know Chase is to understand what a remarkable young man he is. An Honor Roll student, Chase recently completed his first high school soccer season, sharing the field with his older brother and under the guidance of his step-father as coach. His passion for football, especially cheering for the Steelers, is infectious. Chase's love for his family is boundless, encompassing his five siblings, his father, his step-father, and especially his beloved mom. He radiates warmth and joy, much like a ray of sunshine, and is surrounded by friends who cherish him for the wonderful person he is.
Chase is still thinking hard about which wish he would like to make, and Make-a-Wish is working diligently to make his dream a reality. However, to fulfill this wish completely, his step-father and oldest sister need support to accompany him, as siblings over 21 and step-parents are not covered by the wish's funds.
Beyond this wish, the family faces the burden of medical bills, travel expenses, gas, and other costs essential for their well-being. Our heartfelt desire is for Chase to embrace life's wonders without worry and for his family to focus on what truly matters—each other.
Your generosity, whether through donations, shares, or any form of help, is deeply appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read Chase's story and for your compassion.
