Hi Friends and Family:

I am Shannon Tharp, and I am fundraising for my grandson Chase Ibarra's medical bills. We are facing something tough and we could really use your help! Chase, who is 14 years old, was recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes on December 1st. It's been a whirlwind—3 days in ICU, hospital stays, doctor visits, ambulance rides from one city to another, and a whole new life for him. This came out of the blue!!

The biggest hurdle right now is the cost. Even with insurance, it's a lot—hospital bills, medications, and the supplies he'll need to manage his diabetes every single day. The out of pocket on the Insurance is $8000.00 along with the cost of the medications which is not included in the medical out of pocket.

It's overwhelming, and we're doing our best, but it's hard to keep up.

Chase is such an amazing kid—kind, funny, and full of life. We just want him to have everything he needs to stay healthy and thrive.
