Donate to Charlie Frost's Healing Journey

As many of you may already know, on the morning of 7/18/24, my brother Charlie Frost had a horrific accident that would change his life forever. What was supposed to be a fun family camping trip quickly turned into a nightmare we can't seem to wake up from. What was supposed to be a simple float the creek swim trip kind of day has now left Charlie, of just 33 years old, fighting for his life and paralyzed from his upper chest down.

While on the ventilator, he developed a bad case of pneumonia which led him to have secretion that he wasn't able to get up and out due to his paralysis. So they had to suction it out through the vent, which is very painful. On 7/30/24, they were able to remove the vent but not the oxygen. On the morning of 8/1/24, Charlie flatlined on them and his lung collapsed. They had to quickly do CPR to get him back and again he was placed back on the ventilator and in a sedated coma. On 8/2/24, they had to trach him to continue suctioning him and because he had already been on the ventilator way too long.

Charlie has 4 children that are 12 and under. The two youngest he was raising at the time of his accident. Since the accident, we've had to travel back and forth from Rome to Asheville, NC to be with him. When he's stable enough, he will be transferred to the Shepherd center for inpatient therapy where he will learn how to maneuver this new way of life and God willing, strengthen his body and muscles so he can learn to use his limbs again. We're standing FIRM on God's word and we're not taking no and never for an answer.

However, we were just notified that the transfer will cost at least $6000 and he can only be transferred by the hospital which gives us no other options other than try and get that money up at least. Charlie has a very long road ahead of him but he's a mighty warrior. My family and I decided to finally make this in hopes of taking a little bit of stress and worry off of him so he can focus solely on his healing journey.

Charlie will need full-time care and other necessities along with accommodations that will need to be done to the house in order for him to come home. There is so much insurance doesn't cover which has burdened us as a whole. Charlie will be out of work for a while if not permanently and we as a family will also lose days of work taking care of him which means less income on our part to take care of his needs. Please consider donating on his behalf. Every penny counts and we are so grateful for any and everything our community has done this far. If you can't donate, please pray for us. I've never known Charlie to ask for any help. We've always been the type to get out and get it but this has limited us with no other option but to humble ourselves in this critical time and allow those that are led to bless us. Thank you so much for reading.
